Need Advice!!!!

Hi guys,

I've been visiting this site for a while now and always found most people on here helpful, so I thought I'd look for some advice from you guys.

I'm considering buying a 1995 318. I dont know too much about bmw's so I need some help on things to look for. Its got about 60 miles on it. Does that mean its due for a big ass service soon? Or should it have already been done?

What do you guys think of the 318's engine? Quality wise? I know its slow (anyone know exact horsepower numbers?) but does it have a good track record of lasting long and taking to light mods well?

I know the 325 is a much better car for not too much more money, but unfortunatly this is already pushing my budget. I would otherwise just pick up a 94-96 Integra or Accord so its either this bimma or no bimma.

Well 60 miles on a 1995 318i is pretty damn good if you ask me.

60,000 miles on a BMW isn't bad at all. The engine is practically bulletproof except for a few accessories you would have to replace...and such. HP wise I think it has 130-ish.

Try to get a '96 318 with the M44 (as opposed to 92-95 M42)engine. Its more reliable as well as a hair quicker

If there is any way you can wait longer & get a 325 It will be a night & day differnce trust me youll thank me,

I know the newer 318 would be a better car and worth the money, as with a 325/328 but right now I just dont have the money nor can I wait much longer. The only reason I'm even considering this car is because its a great deal... otherwise I'm gonna end up getting an accord or integra or maybe prelude.

This is actually gonna be my first car, so it's alright if its not perfect. Hell, I can always drive it for a year or two and then upgrade right? Its a great deal so I should be able to sell it no prob.
