This is true.. their advantage comes in their ability to dissipate heat more effectively. In other words, after 15 hard stops their temperature is more controlled, like on the track. However, it is worth noting that they are 2lbs lighter, so you net a 4lb weight loss of unsprung, rotating weight.
Only about $100 more than OE replacements, so why not?
