Shipping a hardtop

whats the easiest and cheapest way to ship a hardtop for my car?? the guy i'm buying it from told me 400 through fed ex unless i can find a cheaper way. any suggestions???

I've seen miata hardtops shipped on freight company trucks for about $125. They have to be crated and it takes longer though. Can't think of the company names off hand.

-where do you store those things when not in use????
