Yea, I had seen that earlier. It's not a real M3, it's a 325i that got into the M3 parts bin. It's a pretty quality job, if you ask me. This kinda has me skurred though: "The job was done by a true BMW racing expert and what he did was replace the 95 internals with the 99. So the car is stronger."

Don't under any circumstances buy that car. I contacted him because i was thinking about buying it when he first posted it on ebay. This is his second posting of the car btw. He gave me the mechanics name and said that the mechanic probably wouldn't remember him because he only brough his car in once. I called the mechanic and he had no records of the event taking place.

DON'T BUY THAT CAR

Hrmm. I wouldn't go that far. You can find some real deals on eBayMotors if you know what you are looking for, know what to stay away from, and really follow up on anything that doesn't sound right. I think that you can find a car on eBay motors, you just really need to be a skeptic.

exactly. Just be a smart buyer. Ask questions, and lots of them. Follow up on anything he mentions.. he gives a mechanics name, talk to that mechanic.
I wouldnt buy a car unless I could check it out personally. I would talk to the seller first, find out everything I possibly can - but it will still be only what he says. But if what he says sounds good and you beleive in those words, take the time (and money) to go see the car personally and take it to a top mechanic to be checked out.
If everything clears then you got a deal!
But dont go into it blindly. Its up to the buyer to not get hosed. Period.

It's funny how the kids, who have no first hand experience with driving/buying a car have responded to this thread, claiming to have some sort of clue as to how to go about purchasing a car. It's not like I am a pro, but please don't make assumptions based on preconceived notions. It's annoying.

yea, if ur ever going to buy a car off of ebay, dont place the final bid untill u have looked at the car and inspected or set some kind of deal that if u do buy it, u can return it if its not everything he/she promissed

Did anyone read my post. This car is very suspicious i would not purchase the mechanic who he claims did the work doesnt' remember ever doing it and has no record of it.
