| BMW will eventually namen all their 4 door sedans with odd numbers(1/3/5/7 series) and all 2 door coupe with even numbers (4/6/8 series) and that is why they chage Z3 to Z4. I dont know about M lo....maybe they will introduce 4 door as M3 and coupe as M4? damn.....it sounds like a tank to me... ![]()

um, no that is not true. they will continue to call the sedans 3 series, but coupes will be 4 series. i don't know anything about the M4 replacing the M3, but i highly doubt it will. |

| There is so much history with the M3. Why the hell would they stop producing them? I can't believe they are even entertaining the possibility. BMW is ****ing up royally right now. They will lose a lot of loyal customers/enthusiasts in the next few years. Not only does the styling resemble the likes of Hondas, Infiniti, Mazda, etc., but they are considering abolishing a huge part of BMWs history. I can't even comprehend that. It just seems like an utterly stupid move. |

| It does work.. and it will continue to work, but at the same time BMW is expanding their market and the preferences of many different buyers. For example the 6 series will appeal to an entire new crowd of people that BMW hasn't really offered a product to in the past. I think they are too simplistic to be competetive w/ Mercedes at the moment. Mercedes has an endless (and complicated) lineup of cars.. there really is something for everyone.. something that fits ant would-be consumer like a glove, and BMW needs to get a little closser to them in that respect. x/z/m/3/5/7 is an incredibly simple model lineup when you think about it. They need more classes that stand out and aren't simple a larger (more expensive) version as the numbers get higher. The 6 is again a perfect example. I think they are going in the right direction.
