Engraved Roundels

Im thinking of taking my Roundel off, sanding it down to bare metal, then having my mother (who is a jeweler) engrave the BMW Logo into the 'blank' roundel. with the black engraving (you know, it leaves that black shit in the engraved bits)

has anyone done this before?

If I do it right, it wont cost me a dime.

It would be original. I'd like to see if you can pull it off. But make sure it is reversible. Good luck.

It's basically like a button except with the lip on the outside. The backing and lip are aluminum, but the cover is a thin piece of aluminum that has enamel , then sealed in plastic. It is impossible to remove it out of it's backing, and the metal under it is not chrome. It's plain Aluminum. Either make a whole billet piece or you're just going to cover over the OG emblem.
