1997 BMW Red/Clear Tail Lights. Rewiring ?

I want to install the Red/Clear Tail Lights on my 1997 4dr 318i. All the ones listed on eBay require some kind of rewiring job (for 97/98 only) to resolve an error msg ("Check Brake Lights") that would display on the On Board Comp.

Has anyone installed these before? I can't find any information about it on Google and Im wondering how difficult it is to rewire it myself.

Let me know if you know if you have any info. that can help me out.
