GMG Racecar Video - Mosport, Canda.

Hell all,

The video is finally finished and I wanted to post it up asap. I apologize for the lack of video footage, but my GL-1 was ruined while we were in Lime rock and I had trouble uploading the 5 tapes of footage we have from the past three races . Expect to see two videos from the footage at Lime rock in Lakeville, CT and many more vids to come throughout the season, including Atlanta in less then two weeks. There are also many changes with Eurasian Image and it will soon become something that focuses strictly on DTMPower. I will post the official information on that at a later date.
The following video is raw, uncut footage from the camera setup we have installed on the GMG racecar from Mosport, Canada. This is round two of The Speed World Challenge Touring Car and is the entire race. For more information on GMG, click here. I want to thank Dustin for letting me borrow his camera to upload all the footage up to this point. The video is most likely the largest video we have seen on DTM (784mb), so if you’re running 56K, I highly doubt its worth it for you. If you’re interested as to what the camera setup looks like on film, don’t worry, I will incorporate some of the GMG video car footage from Lime rock (in the rain : )) in the next video that will be released very shortly. Hope you all like the race and stay tuned for whats to come.

Hey I think you need to compress it just a tad, even 250mb, you prob wont be able to notice a difference, and it'll keep your bandwidth a bit bigger.

This is just HUGE, and the server is not that fast, I am only gettin 150kbs or so.

Can't wait to see the video. Downloading at 180k give or take. Im not sure if a lot of people will consider downloading it because of the size though. Why not convert the footage to divx. Later and thanks for the video .

I'm getting about 240kbps, but I can't wait. I raced at Sebring as part of a BMWCCA Driving School, so I'm looking forward to seeing all the parts of the track again

I did not compress it to DivX because not many people have DivX which limits us again. Also, you will understand why i didnt compress even smaller when you see the footage. The cameras are fairly highly quality and look amazing on the TV, but when compressed on the computer, the quality isnt as good. More compression really would'nt look that great. This is def something we had to think about before posting, and the larger file size with better quality really is just the best way.

That was quite possibly the best racing footage I have ever seen . The cameras from autoxcam capture what happens on the track so well. The video was well worth the 700 mb download. That BMW just screams at WOT

Yea, I am saving up for a decent DV Camera, and an AutoXCam will be one of the first accessories I'll be getting. Thanks for the footage

Now that you have the cameras its time to get some better microphones, also next time you might want to make it one video the whole screen, having 3 in the same view was awkward.

I think for the next race we are going to look at recording each camera by itself so we can get full screen on all of them and only goto split mode when we need to in the editing.

We'll see what happens, thanks for the suggestions. Also looks like we need to work on the mic as it's only sending to right channel.

But as we said, just raw footage for you guys to get a peek at what is coming.

if it was only 1 camera view, u woild miss alot of valuable footage, which provides the best result; however, there were 2 cameras pointed straight and the fender/wheel camera is the one that i watched the most, especially at those oversteer moments

It would be cool if there was also a view of the driver

And was it the 6cyl bimmer? looked like it wouldn't give a lot of advantage in the straights. That protege 5 could pull away from it

Correction, this is the second race of the season and it's Mosport, Canada. We will change the tittle asap sorry for the confusion.
