| Check out this new volvo Not sure if anybody has posted this yet but check out this new volvo. http://new.volvocars.com/r/index.asp?extGoto=design go look at the gallery from that link... 300hp, 295 ft/lbs torque.. from a VOLVO... This is much different from the 88 740 GLE I used to drive with a 4 banger... And the exterior looks sweet. Chris Bangle should take a styling lesson from them. What do you guys think about this car????      |

| eh... personally, i wouldn't get it. the term "sports car" doesn't cross my mind when i think about volvo.

| so tired of ppl not liking something because its not a bmw. If you ever lived in Europe you would know about 850R T5, statements like "sports car" and volvo don't go together just show that you don't know enough about the subject. Just because in late 80's there were a lot of 740 in North America's which are good cars for what they were made (grocery getters), doesn't mean all volvos are shit. Same thing i get when i tell someone i drive a saab. By the way Volvo is considered the safest car in the world, which it is.

| ^^ ya and they last forever  id take that over an e36 4 door M3 anyday. Id take the v70r wagon over a 540 wagon  Its faster than a 540 also! I also like the looks of it better! They are bitchen cars. ya its not a bmw its better for everything. I will always love my two bmws though

| There was a special Car and Driver on Speed Channel about the S70R and the S70R. They seemed to hold their own on the track. I would be proud to sport one of those mother f'ers  -Ducky

| For the non believers Well interestingly the S 60 R won European Cars 2003 Car of the year! it beat out: BMW Z4 Audi RS6 VW New Beetle Cabrio Jag XJR Saab 9-3 Porsche Boxter S MB E 500 score one for the underdog sweeds!!

| My friend has a '98 S70 T5 sedan. It performed as well as my '97 M3 (before I modded it -- completely stock) with nothing but a new chip, new 17" wheels (it comes with 16" stock), a/r barrs, and an intake. Yeah that stuff makes a difference, and with the same equipment, an m3 would whip it's ass, but even with all that stuff his car cost less, and gets less attention 9from the cops). I can't say that I'd trade my car for his, but this new s60r seems pretty sweet all the same. |

| volvos are so underrated, its funny...The last V70 R had 260hp, and was awd, if it werent for the auto, that car would have owned many bmws as far as taking a new V70R over the 540iT...wait til you drive it to give that answer... 540iT is very very fast, shame its only offered in slushbox though..
