Question Need help installing a intake, HELP!!

Hey, just got me a 325is 93' a few days ago, ordered me a high flow intake. Now i need help installing it, seems pretty easy, I know i can do it myself, only part that I am stumbled on rite now, is that .. I took of the old factory air filter/intake.. installed the new short high flow intake, got the filter on and everything, but now there is a small tube type, that was attached to the factory air.. and there is no insertion for the tupe on the new intake, So now I am wondering what should i do ? i was thinking, is that tube, since the new intake doesnt have any place for the tube to go, should I go out to the nearest pep-boy, and get me one of those small Air Breather/filter thing ? and use that on the tube ? Sorry if my description isnt really the best, but hope someone knows what I am talking about, and can help me out.. please let me know, thanks a lot.

not sure if i'm right since i don't own a bimmer (yet!), but i did install my intake on my honda so..

ok, the tube should be the pcv valve tube....what this is the the tube that lets the excess exhaust the escapes through the piston rings out so that pressure doesn't build up and eventually...boom. so..this tube lets that pressure out and automakers (in the light of keeping emissions down) feed this air (exhaust) back into the air intake and re-use's it instead of letting it escape into the atmosphere. kind of like recycling it. get it?

so, this tube doesn't really have to be attached back to the intake...a lot of honda people just leave it unattached. there really is no point to re-attach it unless you're a rep. of greenpeace. know what i mean?

then again...like i said. i don't have a bmw yet, so i don't know if i'm %100 right about all of this.

Is this tube shaped like a circle or is it oblong? If it is the latter, and it was inside of the airbox it is the baffle. If its that, don't worry about it.

sweet thanks for the help, found out it there is two tubes, on udner the other, i have a pic that shows it.. the not visible one, under the visible tube, goes straight to engine, and i think optional is correct about it being a tube, that lets air from pistons..and the other, tube that is visible, leads to the start of the factory air filter.

errm.. i have the pic, hehe. but dont know how to upload it, so if any help, just give me email, and i will send pic.. thanks.

Hmm.. actually you know wat, its not for air release and so on, its prolly some type of temprature sensor.. because one of the hose attached to it, when i unclipped, had drippin radiator, and it connect to the air box, but my new intake has no insertino for it, and i tried installin any ways, and car started up fine, but i went back to factory air filter, because i didnt want the temp. sensor just be hanging, so if anyone have any suggestions, let me kow.. by the way i have pic of the temp sensors, just tha i dont know how to upload it.. hehe. so just give me email, if u want me send the pic.. thanks..
