Instead they may focus on a buyer that demographicly is more likely to buy today. Not tomorrow.

Thats the way it is. However if you are a buyer and not a time waster, you have a MAJOR advantage. Since they are less likely to take you seriously etc etc. you can use their attitude to work a deal. Once you freak them out, they will bend over backwards.

I have dozens of friends with BMW's and they are all GREAT guys, well except that one guy. hahahah anyway, VERY few in the age bracket you are talking about, purchased a M3 or any BMW by themselves. What I am getting at is that if your parents are buying they generally don't want to pay M3 insurance and they aren't with you so it's not a buy today type of deal. Also it seems that in the earlier ages of adulthood most of us don't know some isht. Like insisting to talk with the same salesperson so they get the commision instead of using someone new on the purchase date.

Eventually you will be old enough that they wont leave you alone on the lot and then you wish you were young again.

Sorry, I don't know how you could pick a toyota over a fine german engineered vehicle. ewwww. no offense to Lexus but common, Hyndai's are made in the same place. (close enough)
Well, I agreed with EVERYTHING you said right up until the last line. The lexus is a nice car, very reliable, and the service alone is great. Whit modification the IS300 can be quite the performer as well.

About everything else said above, I agre compleatly. BUT, that is their job, if their job puts them in situations like that, well then, that sucks for them, their job is to serve, EVERYONE. I am the type of person who demands respect from any individual in ANY work place, weather they are selling cars, or houses, or a candy bar in a run down gas station in the middle of no where.

Also, the car will be bought outright, by me, no help. Insurance on the other hand will be split 50/50 or so with my dad, and then gas, repairs, modifications, will all be on me.

About insurance, its (e36 M3) one of the cheaper ones out of all my choices.
(s2000, used nsx, 350z, wrx, s4, supra TT, and varios other cars)

But all in all your post is right on the money.

Like he said, the better business thing. it works.

About the Lexus service, my dad owns a 97 es300 and we've never been treated anything but outstanding at New Country Lexus here. Many of the sales people remember who he is when we go in. The fix everything we tell them to and they havnt screwed up before, but i get the feeling that if they did, theyd take full responsibility and go over and above to right the wrong.

apples and oranges. you go in, as an 18 year old in hip clothes, they assume you aren't a buyer today. you go in with your dad who can affort to buy the car on his own and you are treated differently. different situations.

Please call the BBB, when they are done laughing at you, post here again. Your best bet with the BBB is when you are defrauded etc. They understand the right to refuse service and will file your complaint under that. However the "scratched shifter" that was not fixed, could be sent to the BBB. Ask the dealer one more time to fix it. I doubt they will based on the lambasting you did on the internet.

I have to say that not everyone on DTMpower has an ENTITLEMENT chip on their shoulder but some do and it is truely amazing. Note that doesn't mean I am talking about anyone in this thread. but there are a lot of guys who received their BMW package and act as the center of the universe, everything revolves around them, they are entitled to be treated with respect without earning it . bmw package = (co-sign, helped a bit with the cash, insurance paid for, or the car was outright purchased by parents including gas and insurance and the tow bill when they wreck it. I even know a few that have their parents pay for their tickets. hahaha)

I don't mean to piss on anyones parade, I would have loved to have a few nice cars in highschool and college, in fact my dad paid half of my first car, and yes I felt entitled. Now I pay for my stuff, 100%. Note, the dealers still don't give me respect. I guess when you drive a purple car, only the girls pay attention. but I guess thats the point.
