Angel eyes.

i guess i missed something,

do they remove all functionality of the front 4 lights to be actual lights? and just have the blue LED light up then? or are the angel eyes some kind of "Switch on " function, and u can still use your lights regularly.

the Angel eyes are basically wired up as ur driving lights. They are still on even after u turn ur headlights on.

so.. how bright are they? from pictures, they don't seem like they'd light up much. do people end up driving around with their "brights" on all the time @ night then?

no, they dont replace your lights, they just go in front of them afaik, you can turn on the "eyes" or the rings with one click, and turn on the normal lights by going the two clicks to the right.

No it's basically an addition to your parking lights (2nd position on headlight switch). They will go off when your switch is in 1st position. You still retain functionality of your headlights.

They don't light up much because it's purely aesthetic.
