Why does a turbo make more torque than a supercharger?

a turbo will generally make more torque than a supercharger, because a centrifugal supercharger will not make full boost until redline. A positive displacement supercharger is a different story.

centrifugal superchargers and turbos do not make any usable boost untill a certain rpm. They are the same concept except for the way they are driven. RPM for max torque and HP depends on the size of the supercharger or turbos in relation to the displacement of the eng.
