| Well it will be interesting to see the finished product from RMS, we MAY be putting kit in one of our project cars. If we do will build a how to for the SC kit as well as a short and longterm review. For those who didn't see the "spy" article on it, you can go here to read up on the RMS E46 kit: http://www.bimmermods.com/rmsspyinfo.htm Peace, Mal |

| Techna330, i think the ERT site is www.europeanracing.com. I heard that ERT only has a supercharger for the 323 which produces nearly 280hp. (around an extra 100 from stock) They are in the works for the other models. ![]()

| Guys, why are all of you flipping out about RMS, ESS, ERT S/Cs??? The truth about centrifugals is that they suck, they can't muster a single ****in psi before 3000 RPMs and create heat without any form of intercooling. Why waste $6k on that shit??? You guys should wait for some form of screw type supercharger that will produce max boost at 2000 rpm......plus it's intercooled as well which means it creates a denser charge, so in plain english it means More air molecules...when you compress air like a turbo/super do, thermodynamics tells you that heat is a by product of compression, more air molecules = bigger explosion which ='s MORE POWER! Since you are compressing air then, the intake charge becomes hotter, which actually forces the air molecules apart = less power. But then it enters the intercooler which helps take out the heat due to compression which creates a thick mass of air. THE RMS/ESS/ERT kits can't do this even with an aftercooler. Three companies doing this now are Kleeman (they make S/Cs for benz) Saleen, and AMG. None of these companies use vortech, just the screwtype which is actually called Autorotor. IHI licensed the screwtype design from Lysholm who invented it, IHI makes it for AMG. Lysholm is a division of Rotor Corporation (swedish www.rotor.se) who also owns Autorotor. So to conclude....**** RMS/ESS/ERT unless you enjoy waisting your money....rumor has it that some type of screwtype S/C is coming out for the 330. When? I don't know...but look out... |

| I doubt a Pos. Displacement SC will see the light of day. its the holy grail of 6 cylinder BMW's. I think if it was possible it would have already been seen on the E36's; downing atlanta has a 4-cyl model, I am sure there is a reason why they didnt tap the 6 cyl market.

| in rich 328's reply...he used the term 'pos. displacement SC' in AM1R's reply...he was talking about how centrifugals suck... so are they both talking about what i used to hear as the "roots style" blower ...such as the eaton m90s in saleens and m112s??? just trying to figure out if we're all talking about different things or the same thign in different terms. ------- and yeah, i speculate on why one hasn't been made yet? why would there be a problem? what makes a bmw motor different from any other motor that they can't make a roots blower for it? |
