| All in favor of TWIN TURBO 535i? man this e34 3.5 liter inline 6 really is looking like a bullet proof piece. Very similar to the MKIV Supra. Before i am flamed i have some data. My e34 may become a real beast. The turbo technology today is alot better than it was in the early 1990s. Since I have very low miles on my 535i, i may start looking into some turbo applications. Anyone here know anyone hi-up the food chain at Dinan? Compression ratio 535i = 9.0:1 (Single Overhead cam) Supra NA = 10.0:1 Supra turbo = 8.5:1 (Double overhead cam) 350z = 10:3:1 Stock HP 535i = 208hp Supra NA = 225hp Supra turbo = 320hp 350Z = 287hp |

| e34biturbo has done some sick work to his e34. I am impressed. Gives me a lot of ideas as well as hope. http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...=184332&page=1 |

| Hey Buddy, I think you should go for it, there is nothing like forced induction, If I had the money I would do it to my 535i also, and the good thing about urs is the EXTREMELY low milage which means u have a VERY strong motor, that turbo setup would do wonders for that motor, its a great motor. |

![]() he has an alpina turbo e34, 4 other e34's, and an e30 m3 which is destined to receive an alpina 3.6 turbo.... |

| If I do this it wont be until later this yr. But it would require lowering the compression ratio into the 8s and getting a stronger connecting rod, in addition to many other things. This seems like a great project. I'll keep you all posted on my decision. I would be shooting for 11psi and 400hp to the wheels, and daily drivability. It might not be twin turbo though. maybe single. I know the auto tranny wont be fun, but hey, i can just floor it at englishtown raceway =) Initial estimates I am getting are between $15-20k. | how much more work/bread do u think it will take to get a manual tranny in there?..did u see the guy with the red E34 site on cardomain, he did that swap, I just think you would have a lot better car if it had a stick shift transmission in it. |

| I have no idea. If i did a stick shift swap i would opt for the stronger 1995 e34 M5 manual. I have several shops to cross reference. |

| Could I fit the e39 M5 6 speed on my e34 535i? ![]() |

| Don't the e34 m5's have 6's along with the sports package and some other 540's? I know the 540's have the v8s, but the M5 tranny might be able to hook up? |
