Talking The power of NOS

After the thousands of dollars I have put into my car in mods, I am seriosly considering getting a bottle. My best friend has a 92 325is with a bunch of mods, and yes a bottle , I hate racing him because he hangs right with me or will even beat me to 100mph depending on who gets the better launch, or if he squeez's the entire run . So what do you all think? I know SCHO has a bottle, but does anyone else on the forum squeeze .
To check out my friends car go to www.onlineshowoff.com, and check out colbywan, or my car at mrstylz. All our mods are listed, and you can see what it took for him to hang with my M.

After seeing a friend toast the motor on his 1998 M3/4 I would highly recommend that you stay away from the bottle. A $200 bottle set up cost my friend around $10,000 (new motor). Unless you know a VERY, VERY capable mechanic and tuner stay away, you are only asking for problems.

This is just my opinion, it has been run on e36 cars with success but more often than not detonation occurs.

Mike,

The kit was set up all wrong. It was a 75 dry shot that was injected just after the CAI.

I don't have any direct experience but from what I have seen getting a system to work and creat the right fuel mixture is very tricky.

Ouch! I am running a wet kit that injects fuel along with the nitrous. If anything I am running rich. I am hoping to get it on the dyno before actually using the kit in a race or at the track. Right now I dont need the nitrous, as the motor is pulling stronger everyday!!

mr_green, check out the 20923 kit from Nitrous express. It is a safe kit and pretty simple to install. Please use an MSD Window switch, so as not to be squeezing when/if you hit the rev limiter.

Mike

hey guys im pretty experienced with NOS on imports and on chevys ive never tryed it on my bmw but maybe one day i will well if ur gonna use nos i recomend the ZEX kits as for the built in comp. sends signals to the selenoid of when it can release more nos or cut it off incase of fuel shortage ive used it on many imports and havent blown a motor yet as for my chevy ive blown pistons left and right putting holes in the block the size of half dollars well good luck

i say just don't use Nitrus at all. leave it for the ricers to use and blow engines. get a forced induction and you will be happy. i have just never been a huge fan of NOS because everyone can put it on their car with little effort. just my .02
