Is it possible to have more than two turbos?

I would assume so, considering the Bugatti Veyron is a 16 cylinder engine with a quad turbo. Would it be possible to run maybe 3 turbos on a Supra, or maybe on an RX7?

Anything is possible.. 3 turbos would be easier on an inline 6 engine (1 turbo per 2 cylinders). They would have to be pretty small turbos. Unless you want a LOAD of power, and a LOT of lag. However, i wonder if it is possible to fit it all in an engine bay?

I was also wondering about fitment issues. I am not sure if 3 turbos would fit in the engine bay of a Supra. OK, well, I have a few more questions. If you were to put 3 turbos in a Supra, what would the power output be like? Would you have increased power down low, or higher up in the RPM range with the third turbo, or all throughout the whole RPM range? Would there be less lag with three turbos, or more lag? And what would the costs be for having 3 turbos put in? Any maintenance issues? Thanks

well the way the twin turbo works on those cars is sequential. it's like, 1 turbo works at low rpm's, and the other one spins at high rpms. (put in simple terms)

rx7 owners can mod their cars to make their cars non-sequential, meaning that they make it so both turbo's spin together....hitting harder at higher rpm

so i guess you can say that the turbo lag is less with a twin turbo. 3 turbo's would be dumb. too much hardware complication, and more things to go wrong with little (if any) added benefit. most supra owners that want real power go single turbo (1 large turbo) anyway.

but then again, a zeemax widebody e30 m3 with a triplet turbo would be pretty dope huh?

ITS POSSIBLE. i dont know how to find the pics but i was lookin at a triple turbo supra last week somewhere on the net. it was pretty sweet the piping looked like a cob web of metal toobs. i think the turbos were greddy 15G's but im not sure. pretty much anything is possible if you hace the room and the skills. there is a quad turbo SR20-DET thats a 2.0Lt 4 cylinder from japan put in silvias. it has a turbo hooked straight up to a exhaust port. so its 4 T2 turbos bolted straight to the block. cool stuff but not sure what the HP was and the supra triple turbo wasnt anything special. i think around 700. you can do anything you want really. you could put 16 turbos on a v8 just make each header split and hook a turbo up to it. its alot of piping and stuff but its possible. if done right on any of these set ups maintenance wouldnt be an issue. except for just plain tubo wear and stuff. i dont think i will be able to find pics of the supra but i will try.

you might think of a TURBO lag if you say more then TwinTurbo..
but yes possible.. you are gona have to do some major change under your hood..

that supra is insane! 3 intake filters...ahahahahah. I wonder what numbers that puts down. Ive heard rumors around that my lincoln is getting a quad turbo....

Well how about this for madness:

We'll take the M1/5/6 powerplant and put 6 turbos on it, each one feeding a single cylinder. Bolth them riight to the block and run zoomie pipes coming off of them, 6 pipes running into the passanger foot well and exiting at the rocker.
