| The viper's really a nicer car than most people think. I've spent 4 or 5 hours in a 98 GTS coupe (driving and .. passengering). I hate muscle cars and was prepared to call the viper a rattle trap, but it was of course ungodly fast but EXTREMELY quiet, too. I mean it made almost no noise at all. Very easy to drive, light clutch, etc. It is certainly massive though, you feel like you're rubbing against every guard rail on windy mountain roads, pretty scary. I bumped it up to an easy 120 passing a few cars on a 2-laner, and the check engine light came on..  In all fairness though, it's a car that's almost never driven (less than 4k miles) and the light went out again after it was shut off later in the day. But then... I was on a trip in it, and.. it gets very old. The thing is extremely cramped inside, and it gets super hot inside.. gotta run the ac all the time to keep it cool. Visibility is terrible, low roof.. And the noise does get to you. I know I said it's quiet, and it is, but.. just the constant rumbling of the road and all that stuff wears on you after awhile. It's impossible to drive slow (like first gear in traffic, etc).. it just lumps and jumps around. under acceleration the engine sounds like it's gonna fall apart. But my god, it goes. I think it's the best value in sports cars today. Yes, the interior is pretty cheap looking, but it's more boring than it is ripped off of any other car. I'd take the 911 Turbo S (especially the 993, my favorite porsche bodystyle!) over the viper any day. But the brute isn't as bad as you'd think. Probably just half that bad      |

| The Dodge Viper is one of my dream cars... I'm not a big fan of Dodge Mfr. but I consider the Viper a great sports car in its styling and performance... hasn't the Viper won its class in ALMS like 3 years in a row or something, that's got to mean something. |

 ok you guys are stupid First of all, it's a v-10 not a v-8, so dont give me that dino shit. It's fast as all hell (0-604.0 1/4 12.1@119mph and top speed of 192mph.) That's better than a ferarri 550 maranello. and better than any BMW. I love BMW's but I love Vipers even more. My dad's friend has one and those things are not poorly built. The interior is actually very nice. You people dont even know how man cylinders it is, how are you gonna judge it's interiour. It has very good quality. There hasnt been many recals at all. Its not huge, just feels huge. IT weighs less than a 911 turbo, and is just about the same size. Looke, you call yourself true auto unthusiasts, well act like one. Give credit when credit is due. 450 hp, 490lbft of torque, come on. and the new one 500hp and 500lb ft of toqrue, it is a true supercar that deserves respect. Give it

| Like I said before the Viper is an ok car just not for me. I have seen many of them they can be VERY FAST and I have seen bad and good sides of the car, but more of the bad. I might get flamed for my next satement, but I am not to crazy about Ferrari, but I give credit where credit is due. From what I have seen the ppl that own vipers don't know how do drive a car like that (from what I HAVE EXPERIENCED)I am not saying everyone that ownz a car like that does not know how to drive it. The Viper is not an idiot proof car. I still think it is more driver skill then what kind of car they are in. Larry
