| 3.2L NON-VANOS engine possible? Anyone know if its possible to bore a 2.5L non-vanos engine to a 3.2L and have it run properly? Thanks for any input.

| Ok, but could you convert a 3.2 to non-vanos? Keep the original 3.2 block, pop on a non-vanos head, swap cams, maybe a port/polish, and some custom software. That sounds easier than boring/stroking a 2.5. The stroke gets you to 2.9 (I think), so then you need to bore out 0.3 more, which is still a lot. Hmmm, if I had the money I'd give it a shot... ![]()

| Actually, early '91 and some '92 325's have stouter blocks because they were the first production years, and companies tend to put a little more meat on the block in early life of an all new motor. So, you can bore these out to 86mm, which is essentially a 3.2 with the crank (ok fine, 3.2 spec is really 86.3mm, but its within 10cc's!).. and use your non-V head. Keep in mind, the non-V system has a 4-volt MAF though, so you can't run the Euro MAF (later models are 5V), there are som problems there.. plus cam options. |

do you think it would be worth the trouble though?

| id still be hesitant on it.... you would need A LOT of custom work done to do that... it would be hella expensive.. it would be safer, and about the same price if not a lil more to just get your car blown. just my ideas though... anyone else able to chime in? |
