| For some time now i have been curious which one is acually better for overall performance in everyday driving and on the track. I'll post stats from both of the cars and give reasons why you would have one over the other Porsche GT2 Price: 180K USD Engine: 3.6L Twin Turbo Flat 6 BHP: 462 @ 5700 RPM Torque: 620 Nm Layout: Rear Wheel Drive Transmission: 6 speed Manual Weight: 3,806 lbs Top Speed: 196 MPH 0-60: 4.0 seconds 0-100: 8.5 seconds Ruf R Turbo Price: 182K USD (117K pounds) Engine: 3.6L Twin Turbo Flat 6 BHP: 520 @ 6800 RPM Torque: 720 Nm Layout: All Wheel Drive or Rear Wheel Drive Transmission: 6 speed Manual Weight: 3,241 lbs Top Speed: 213 MPH 0-60: 3.6 0-100: 7.9 So which one do you prefer? |

| DEFINITELY the RUF R Turbo. Look at the specs, it is almost 600 pounds lighter, 58 more hp, and 100 more ft. lbs. of torque. Also, it's faster So basically, for almost the same price, the RUF R Turbo is a much better buy Last edited by Sean M3 : 09-27-2002 at 03:03 PM. |

| where are you getting 3800lbs for the GT2? porsche.com says 1495kg, which ~3200, including 75kg worth of passenger/luggage

| Um, call me an idiot but the GT2 actually has an interior... the R Turbo is nothing more than two seats and a roll cage if I remember C&D correctly...

| sfhighroller ,0-100 km/h (62 mph) 4.1 s taken directly from Porsches site. The reason I had to add this is because if you dont look at magazines times you will pretty much only see 0-60 times for Porsches at 4.0seconds. Ive noticed this for the past couple years, Porsche only puts out 4.0 but magazines will go lower. Aslo the older 993 Turbo S supposively did 0-60 in 3.6, and the 996 TT is faster then that so the times are easily in the 3s.

| The GT2 weighs about 3190 pounds owing to lack of front-wheel drive assembly. The R Turbo is simply a full-interior Carrera 4 (only narrow body, not the C4S) or 2 with twin turbos added, a new steering wheel, some metallic pedals, and an integrated roll cage (Excellence magazine). |
