| http://www.luckybmw.com/zex/zexhazard.htm some of you may have seen this before and know all i have been through with zex. basically in the end they told me they wanted me to take the whole kit off the car and send it in for them to look at. whatever the kit worked fine, just not on my car, so i sold it. i have decided against any more modifications to my car and am currently returning it to stock except for my 3.91 gears. the $ to hp rates on these cars are not worth it. i will be keeping my car as a daily driver, but i will be going american for the real power. domestic cars just can't be touched. i know some of you guys will get all butt hurt from me saying that, but i would like to see you make a single digit car for $10,000. it CANNOT be done on a german car, let alone most foreign cars except maybe a supra tt. see you guys around.LUKE |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() all of the cobras in the pics are replicas. they weigh about 2000 lbs they use the readily available mustang 5.0's (late 80's-early 90's) as donor cars making them quite affordable. most guys end up spending about $20k on the whole car to finish it. i think they are worth every penny of that and more. not to mention for a third of what people spend on turbos you can have a crate engine that puts out 500hp naturally aspirated that will make some amazing hp/weight ratios ![]() seller of cobra replica kits= www.factoryfive.com Last edited by luckybmw : 09-03-2002 at 05:40 AM. |

FUKKIN PSYCHO there will be no bmw on the face of this planet that will even give his new car a good challenge. (except maybe silverstreak from bimmerforums.) the new car is not domestic and he is still deciding between a few of them. most of the ones he is looking at have more than or very close to 1000hp. that is all i am saying. use your imagination. ![]() |

| ummm ur right on import/euopean cars bieng very expensive to tune and domestics are ALOT cheaper...but that cobra does not wiegh 2000 pounds or around it that mustang 5.0L with the tranny alone wieghs around 1600 pounds and the mustang 5.0L engine is SO OVER RATED dont try to cut corners and buying cheaper cars if u want real power its still going to cost alot how about trying a new corvette put an intake and exhaust on it and u can easily run 12's MOST every car has potential....its just if your giving what ur car needs...bmw makes one of the most powerful/stable inline 6 around any money spent in a bmw is a good invest if u ask me

bmw's are great cars for daily drivers. anything else just seems to be wasting money though. look at neoworkes. some of those cars had nearly $20,000 in mods alone and i don't think one bmw broke the 12 second barrier and from what i hear most were in the 14's and above. |

| umm..tell me more about this i find it all very hard to believe an american car weighs less than a CRX and packs such large displacement..and 11's? that is super fast... that wieght is killer man..a popular light car is the s2000 and thats an inline 4 we r talking about a v8 5.0L s2k wieghts 2700 pounds i find that a cobra wieghs 2100 pounds

Remember, performance is achieved from a good power to weight ratio, which means, the less weight, the less power that is required to propel the vehicle. Since our car is 1000lbs less than the Mustang, any significant source of horsepower can create a track rocket. The performance numbers for the stock (4.70 Sec. 0-60, 13.2 sec. 1/4 mile) and competition (3.62 sec.0-60, 11.3 sec. 1/4 mile) version 5.0L Mustang 302 engine attest for this winning combination USING A STANDARD HP+1/4 MILE CALCULATOR: 2200 curb weight (it says 3100-3350 for the mustang and -1000 for the cobra) 350hp engine =11.43 1/4 mile time keep in mind the more you change the gearing the less hp you will need. some guys have managed to shoehorn small block chevys in the factory five cars, but it is a bitch to do. lots of modifications needed. this car is meant to made cheaply and easily using a donor mustang. they even have a carbon fiber body option that shaves more weight off ![]() Last edited by luckybmw : 09-03-2002 at 07:49 PM. |

| Well said LuckBMW! ![]() ![]() Case Closed! ![]() ![]() Oh, and for about ten grand you can put a new F-body in the mid to upper 11's reliably and it will still be NA. If you want, the SC kits are around 5-grand and put down 450-rwhp at 6-psi. There are other ways of having fast cars. I mention that because then it would not be only a "fair weather" car. On the other hand the Cobra's look too awesome to pass up! ![]() Have fun! ![]()

| in my opinion f-bodies are the premiere bang for the buck along with the fox bodies. f bodies look better though i met a guy with a new ss not too long ago that just stuck on a 200 shot and some drag radials and was in the 11's. that is $1000 total in mods i think his tranny was on the way out, but he still pulled it off. i might also go back to my roots with what i had in high school. 1963 chevy II/nova ss beautiful cars. |
