Lightbulb 3.2 low compression m20 with turbo

Hmmmmm...seems a 3.2 m20 stroker kit can be had for just under $3,000 fromIreland Engineering.

What if I got that ($3,000) but ordered it with low compression pistons and ran my turbo at a high boost (I traded my AirResearch GL3 for a Garret T3.) What compression pistons should I get and what boost should I run to achieve the most power? How much power are we talking here?

The sick thing is if I did the work myself I could have everything done for under $5k ($3k stroker, no charge turbo, $2k turbo exhuast work, intercooler, gaskets, parts, etc.)

Hmmmmmmm....

I was gonna wait untill I could afford an M50b30/b32 or S52 (euro) engine transplant but now...

the one thing that i think could/might hold you back is that it's a single cam engine. with the S50, M50 whatever you call it you have twin cam.

BTW i don't know if you answered me, what guage pod are you using for you Air/fuel ratio guage? i'm putting a TV in my center console so i have to move my guages somewhere else.
thanks
Eric

yeah we actually came out with those kits a long time ago and Ireland has followed suit.. only difference is our pistons are better

and the Ireland's "3,2" kit is not a 3.2, it's a 3.2 they just decided to round up instead of down to 3.1 where it should be

anyway.. lukas contact me if you are serious about one of these kits.

and by the way there's no way to get a low-comp piston with that setup.. there is just simply too much stroke to allow a piston with that thin of a surface, you'd be WAY over the minum thickness (200/1000's)

you could do that with a 3.0 though.. no way with the 3.2, not possible.

Oh eric, eric, eric. The M20 is JUNK! Why are you so obsessed in this shitty engine? Just do the M50 conversion, and turbo it. You'll end up doing this some day eventually, and it delivers superior performance than ANY M20.

I beg to differ. A well stroked and built m20 will be just as good as an m50. Yeah the m50 swap might be the new craze at the moment but still. I do not have the luxury like you guys to make that swap. Remember that i drive an iX. So just like Lukas, i will be stroking my engine and also adding a turbo.

ha, yeah.. i mean, don't get me wrong, the M20 is a great motor, and our new 3.0 and 3.1 strokers are NASTY, but the M20 will never be a M50- bottom line.

the M50 is just better in every respect, and then some..

danny- you're not planning an M50 swap are you?

Aww hell, I'm "planning" on an M50 swap...but that's down the line when my trusty S14 blows.....and that probably won't be for a while b/c she's running well
