Supercharger... Cams... Hi I'm New!

Hi everyone! I've been reading this board for over a year now but have finally registered. I drive an '87 e30 with an m50 motor. I have recently decided to go with a supercharger setup on my motor and have come to you guys for help! OK here we go!

Supercharger:
What is the highest psi a stock m50 ('94 325) motor can take? (without intercooler)
How much power is this putting down?
Does anyone have a vortech blower for sale?

Camshafts:
Does anyone have any used m50 performance cams for sale?
Does anyone have any used m3 cams for sale?

Has anyone done this before? Do you have any details you could give me, or suggestions?

Thank you all for your time!
ps.. email me if you don't want to post here ddoonie@interhop.net

WITHOUT intercooler (mistake) I am guessing no more than 6psi. Thats the only question I can answer.

Depends on how aggressive you want your set up to be. Are you running stock compression?

If so, than 6-8lbs is a safe boost level. If you would like to push the limit a tad more, invest in an aftercooler (i recommend the RMS one) which can up boost to around 10. Just remember to run larger injectors. And tuning is key...very important.

I have 2 set ups for my ride...race & street.

supercharger

It's a stock m50... 325is motor. I will run an intercooler later on (unless i get one for a good price)but what exactly do you mean by tuning? Air/fuel... or more? What are the stock injectors good till (psi)? I plan on doing my injectors.. pistons... all in time but right now just want to get my basic charger setup in place.

thanks

Injectors are part of the simple SC set up. I would get 28.8lb injectors, 16ohm if you plan on running 6-8 psi. Anything above that, increase your injector size.

Tuning- Yes, air/fuel, timing, etc. Fourfa could probably tell you more. You're running a stock ECU so you don't have to sweat Lambda's, etc.

By the way, an AFTERCOOLER is the best thing that will ever happen to your S/C. I recommend it from the get go.

aftercoolers...

Are they better than intercoolers? How exactly do they work?

My problem is that i need parts for a very reasonable price and i am doing the install myself therefore i am not purchasing a kit. What injectors should i run (brand) and what size (max psi i'll run is 12 after i build the motor)? Cash is not really plentifull as I am paying for University... and completed my swap around 4 months ago.

Thanks for all the help!

Aftercoolers are a water to water method for cooling air. Intercoolers are air to water (normally).

Injector size will vary...you need a good tuner. That's the most important thing. He will determine what the best injector size is. If you're running a stock ECU (as opposed to a stand alone system) you'll need to run a high ohm injector as well. Something around 42lbs 16 ohm should work fine. RC engineering has that injector. Some other manufacturers are Siemens and Rochester.
