| M3k, On Active's Demo TC M3, the VANOS "ON" point is pretty much stock but the VANOS is turned off at around 4000rpm rather than the stock 5000-5500rpms range. Reason why its set at a lower engine speed is because full boost is already acheived before 4000rpm and advance cam timing isnt necessary anymore cause the intake manifold is really pressurized. Plus too much of advance timing can cause detonation problems and can cause engine tempertures to rise. |

| detonation I know that advanced timing causes detonation. So in fact the point was that the vanos was modified. Also the vanos doesnt work from idle. in fact it works in the mid to higher range- its good conversing with someone who knows their stuff! |
