help for friend: turbo 1992 celica GT?

this guy is obsessed with turboing is 2.2 liter 4 cylinder...does anyone know any turbo exhaust manifold that bolt right up to this engine?? how about the "tech" name for the engine? as in the 2.5 in my E30 325i is M20B25...i appreciate it!!

lol i think you are askingn the wrong board, but you can probably have someone make you a custom manifold, im ot sure if there are
any production kits out there for that year celica, except if you get the one off of the celica gt four, BUT im not sure if its the
same motor

heh yea i know, but the amount of GOOD celcia boards out there is uhhh...not very good...thnx though! i think we are prolly gonna end up doing a www.homemadeturbo.com type deal to his car lol!!!!

your friend is in luck, well, kinda of..

that 22R is not the greatest motor for performance buffs, i believe it was shared in the camry, etc.

BUT, toyota did make a turbo motor for that celica, which was in the Celica AllTrac, known as the 3SGT-E. it was an AWD car, and the motor was a 2 liter DOHC turbo 4 that produced 200 bhp. the 3SGT was also the same motor that was found in the MkII MR2 Turbo. if he wants to do something, i would recommend finding a 3SGT and swapping it in, but he might have some problems with the trans, since it was for an AWD situation. honestly i dont know...
