Nos??? I did a search on NOS and Nitrous but didn't find any thing helpful. I'm thinking of putting NOS on my car but I wanted to get an idea of what other members have done, their setup. How much NOS, 50..100 shot? Wet or Dry? Any internal changes? Dyno tuned...and if so what did you use to adjust the Air/Fuel? Bottle heater? Most importantly performance gains, on the dyno and at the track. As all the members with NOS know, it the best dollar to hp gain. And the cost of a supercharger and turbo system for a BMW is ridiculous.

All internals are the same. I am still running stock compression. I am replacing the Bosch Platinum +4 plugs (which suck anyway) with NGK one range colder plugs with stock gapping. I am also running an MSD window switch which will prevent the nitrous from spraying in the event that I miss a shift or hit the rev limiter. I am adding a purge valve for the cool factor. It does have a function too. In two weeks, I should be complete with the install and write-up. I have to find time to put on my brakes and coilovers too in there.

sounds like a good setup! When is the NOS going to kick in? Are you going to have it setup that the NOS kicks in at a certain RPM Range or is it always going to be spraying? This is a stupid question but I have to ask, What is a coilover? And are you installing an aftermarket one?

The nitrous will kick in at 3500 and will not spry over 6500. This should work and is what most people run between. I will not use it in first gear. As soon as I shift to second, you activate the switch. As long as you are full throttle, it will be spraying. Coilovers for M3: (Click) http://www.ground-control.com/gccatm3.htm

| I had the exact same kit as SCHO but had to sell it b/c I got an exceeding 100 ticket. It's a great kit. BTW, NOS is not nitrous, NOS is a company (nitrous oxide systems), so when you say NOS you are referring to the actual company. N20 is nitrous. Just thought I'd let you know.

MPower95 - N2O is nitrous. Don't forget about I couldn't find the sub so I went with super. At any rate better than saying 2 oxygens. :P I must have been inhaling it. ![]() Last edited by Solokron : 05-02-2002 at 12:45 PM.

I just got off the phone with a NOS representative and he informed me that the Wet kit can lead to problems with the 1 and 2 cylinders but a Dry kit won't. I think he might have been saying that because NOS primarily deals with Dry kits. But he told me if I wanted to run their Dry kit I needed to find the Fuel Regulator. Where is our Fuel Regulator located?

Don't use nitrous. Hey I'll say it again. Don't use nitrous. Just fried my engine, and I have alot of experiance with nitrous oxide. I have been researching it for over 6 months and installed 3 other systems in other cars before I installed my Zex kit. I was racing a mustang and only had the 75 HP shot in it when my engine crapped out. Well now I have no compression from my cylinder #1. If you absolutely must have the bottle, I suggest not going over the 50 HP shot for 4 cylinder and not over 75 for 6 cylinder. Zex is computer controlled and monitors the pressure of your fuel rail. When there is not enough fuel going into your cylinders, the nitrous shuts off to prevent lean mixture leading to detonation. It is supposidly a safe kit but has no compensation as to how much pressure is in your bottle. Now I am going to put a regulator on my setup so I know that I will be shooting the same no matter how full my bottle is. Oh, that is after I rebuilt my f@#&ing engine.
