ESS supercharger

Has anyone heard of any problems with supercharging a 2001 330ci(coupe)? Any reasons to recommend against it? Any reasons to support it?

I am looking into one, but talk to your dealership first. Mine said if I add the sc they will drop my warranty.

Wait for Dinan to release their SC. Your warranty will remain intact.

Yeah it will. I just set up an appointment w/ Autoscope to get all the offered Dinan software and cais this week.

Thats not true, A Dinan SC WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTEE; however, there other products do not. If you want, Dinan can sell you a supplemental warrantee. However, ESS Tuning also does the same.

What is involved with getting a SC? Do I need any kind of software? Are there other parts I need when I get the SC? I was also looking at the ESS SC. As far as the warrenty part goes, I just say screw it because the BMW dealer screws me over either way. I have a UUC exhaust and they say every problem is caused by it. (speaker rattling, cup holders vibrating)

All necessary parts come with the SC kit.

What about RMS? I know they are reasonable on price and their kits come with everything you need like bigger injectors, software, etc.

It is true what richp says., even a Dinan SC would void your warranty. Unless you bought a supplemental warranty directly from Dinan. But there is still one huge problem...Dinan is only making one SC for the E-46 chassis. And it is going to the M54 engine which is the engine on the new M3. Even if they did make one you any other model 3 ser it would cost upwards of 9000 bucks, thats not including supplemental coverage. Your way better off with an RMS unit.

Alright, now it comes down to this.....which one is better....ESS or RMS? Which is more reliable?

One of the guys that works at the shop that is doing the Trans work on my mustang worked at RMS for 3 years, as I am sure he is probably a little Biased, but he had quite a few people go from their ESS S/C to an RMS kit for simple reliablity Issues.
