| turbos produce more power, are more expensive and require a lot more maintainence. a supercharger is a direct bolt on, and all that needs to be replaced is a new fuel rail and clutch, if you have a manual(this is what i've heard), however, with turbos, you need a timer, blow off valve, intercooler, and you may need to re-enforce your pistons and a whole bunch of other sh!t. this is just what i've heard and seen because my frient just put a turbo in his ITR. hope this helps! -GPV |

| from what I know, super is more reliable and is cheaper but doesnt have as much power as a turbo. Also with turbo you get the nice whistling sound and the option of getting BOV's which sound incredible! I am thinking about getting a turbo...but it won't be for a looooong while! |

| The general consensus appears to be turbo gives you more power, but costs more money and is less reliable. Supercharging doesn't quite cost as much, but gives you less power on average and supposed better reliability.

| A supercharger is not necessarily more reliabe. I know people who have had problems with belts breaking, and with internal bearing failure. As for turbos, look at AA's turbos, they are very reliable and have been proven. If you don't believe me talk to ///MCubed or Blown M Compact(Lou) or TampaTurboM3(Tommy) or Shingo, these guys will tell you. The only things they have problems with are driveshafts breaking do to the amount of power being produced. Another thing I don't like about the supercharger is the problem with heat soak. ///MCubed, Blown, and Shingo all switched from s/c's to turbos. How many people do you know have switched from turbos to s/c? Look here, the above named guys provided great insight on the subject and about their turbos in comparison to their s/cs. http://activeautowerke.com/turbo/cus...al_M3_STG2.asp
