Question should I un-install shark injector with nitrous???

This Wednesday I will be having SMA installing my nitrous kit for me.(decided not to do it myself because too much school and work..) So should I un-install the shark injector software before I always run nitrous?? Would it be okay if I left the software in and use at least 100 octain fuel?? I have heard that leaving the software in might cause damage to my engine due to timing advancement.

I know for a fact on OBDI cars with chips that advance the timing you can't run them with nitrious. But I do not know how much the Shark Injector plays with timing. I've heard the shark just really bumps the rev limiter and takes off the top speed limiter. Thats why it really doesn't offer a big performance upgrade.

Shark Injector

That's wierd becuase when I installed the shark injector, it took a whole secound of of my QT...This could have been becuase I drove better the secound time but I doubt it.

Before Injector: 15.7 QT's

After Injector and changing spark plugs: 14.5 QT's

Yes you should in-install the shark software if you want to hook up a N20 system.

Definatley take off the shark software and maybe find a way to retard your ignition timing.

You should take it off. You will not need to retard your timing unless you are running over 100 shot. Get an MSD Window Switch.

Sorry don't know what the octane requirements are, but the window switch permits nitrous delivery only above a specified minimum rpm and below a specified maximum rpm. Hence the term "window". It's basically a safety feature.

Well they finally finished the install. I must say they did a very nice job..looks very clean. You can hardly tell that it is even there. Hopefully I will be able to take picks tomorrow so you can see.

By the way.......I inquired about the MSD window switch, and SMA told me that I could not use one with my application because normally you would tap onto the solinoid, but my unit is totally sealed.

hmmmm..... you usually tap the ground wire for the solenoid into the msd window switch. tell them to try that.
