Faux Type-R Turbo Burn-Up (Aftermath Pics)

Ok well, here is how the story went,
One of the kids at school, has this Non-VTEC auto integra
with Apex-I lights and gaughes and basically Apex-I
out the ass!!!
but he decided he wanted a 16PSI greddy Turbo and intercooler...
he was in my autos class and the teacher told him he would need reinforcements on the engine black and head gaskets and what not,
well it turns out the head gaskets were first to go and flames burned out of the cylinders into the engine bay
then pistons 2 and 4 were shot out the bottom of engine block,
the engine has been rebuilt without turbo but for osme reason he still has burn marks and that heavy ass intercooler on front...
DONT ASK ME, pics below!!!

thats a big ass intercooler, so what happened? did he make a stronger engine that could handle the boost?

If you spent all that time taking pics, and making diagrams just to bag on a classmates car, then your the joke. What do you drive again? Jeep Wrangler? Damn that CB Radio W/ 3 Foot Antenna and
125 db Triple Tone Air Horns must give you like 15 more HP! Good luck.

Actually there is a guy in Cincinnati with a Black Integra Type R where he threw $13,000 into the engine and runs 16psi when he takes it to the track. He was telling me he can run high 11's low 12's. He drives it regularly with 12psi or something around there. So apparently Type R engines can handle it although ive heard its not good for an engine with such high compression.

poking fun is all well and good, but i mean there is a line. Had he placed a wing on the back so large the front wheels came off the ground and the car couldn't move, that would be hilarity, but blowing an engine with too much boost thats jus' shitty luck really. iTR's are really nice cars, wouldnt mind owning one myself if'n i didn't have my M....

Well, type R have a special red emblem, they cost like 40 bux each i believe. 40-60.....anyways, many ppl buy cheap imitation ones, which aren't the exact color. But back to the type r engine, those were some of the best engines out at the time. The heads are port and polished by hand by only 2 head techs in Japan. They are not meant for forced induction. With proper cams, retainers, valvetrains, etc, they make their best power at around 10k rpms. I know of at least one all motor GSR block running 12's. Bump that up to a type r engine, and u may be able to hit the 11's NA while still streatable. My bros Type R was running High 12's all motor with full interior, daily driver. That was before it was stolen of course

dude, you spend so much time flaming "ricers" in all your posts. people mod out their cars to their personal taste. i've seen BMWs with Dinan and ACS logos all over... does that make them any more riced out than the acura ? i'm thinking of putting on an M5 lip spoiler on my car, am I as guilty of "ricing" out my car? and before you make fun of all japanese cars, think of all BMW owners that may also have a japanese car, myself included. and you know what ? it will blow away that jeep of yours in a heartbeat.
i don't make fun of your jeep, you show respect for all cars.

mdywglr4x4, you always get flamed everytime you start a thread...
feel sorry for you...

but yeah...I kinda dislike when people flamed at my Integra LS
before, even I only mod the interior and did nth but an antenna on
my rear windows...

he ain't doing something rice here...he just boost his engine too
much...so many NOSed BMW anywhere and need to rebuild, that's not
something new...

Something tells me that investing $13,000 into engine preparations is probably what allows him to boost the engine further than a stock motor could go.
