It's just not really "healthy" for the engine.

Please justify this statement......i highly doubt you know a 1/4 of the information there is to know about nitrous usage. I could be wrong though....show me. I dont mean this post to be in any a flame, but its just that nitrous gets a bad rep from random people throwing out random comments like "i heard nitrous blows up your engine," "i heard everytime you squeeze it adds 1000 miles of engine wear to your car," "isn't ur car gonna die now?" It's all uneducated if u ask me.....

ANNYYYYYYYYYWAYS!!!!!!!!! Congrats on the nitrous man! Lemme know if you have any questions on the install...i'd be more than happy to help

NITROUS CAN REALLY MESS YOUR ENGINE UP IF YOU MESS WITH IT THE WRONG WAY. BUT LETS SAY ITS NOT BAD, YOU CAN STILL END UP WRAPPED AROUND A TREE IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING.

Seedster: Thanks a lot man, I'm having Foreign Affairs (a well-repped shop in SoFLA) install it. I got the kit for 350 (used for 2 months) w/ 30,50,and 2 other shots, purge kit, 10lb bottle and all hardware.

E46GTR///M3: I have been legally driving for 2 years, but I've been racing and into engines for years. I wont end up around a tree.

Everyone else: Yes, nitrous is dangerous, but it is not terrible. I know what Im doing. If you abuse the bottle, ur gonna blow. But this is for (mostly) track use only.

I'll let you guys know how install goes tomorrow! Wish me luck!

I agree with you. As long as you know what your doing it shouldn't harm anything.

Congradulations on your successful years through the mech. e. world. I never said it was the best thing for your engine, but people (like you) put it down as if it didnt put the "stress" on moving parts of the engine like an S/C or turbo does. When someone posts up that they got a turbo...how many posts do u see "damn, ur engine is gonna get fugged up buddy!" None. Two of my closest friends are also my roomates, one's in aero e., one's in mech e. I've asked them tons of questions on the stuff before I indulged myself into the world of nitrous oxide.

The N2 assists in taking out the heat from the cylinder via the exhaust side. Not only is a cold air dispursed into the intake (bringing down intake temperatures), it also helps remove heat and in which the oxygen obviously helps in the assitance in combustion with the added fuel. I left a LOT of details out obviously and this isn't a science class....but I know what I need to know. WHEN SETUP PROPERLY, nitrous is perfectly safe. If one stays on the juice forever, then hey...fuggem...they'll be "that one idiot." And for those who know what they're doing.....more power to them.

Regardless, I propose us dropping this subject....we can get into a neverending arguement about this ish. At the sametime, I resent the sarcastic "Mr. Nitrous" comment...you can take that and shove it...that is all
