how do you figure the turbo ka would be better than the RB26DETT everyone swaps the ka motors in 240sx's for the sr20 or RB series motors the RB you can put a single turbo on it and crank it out to about 500hp with minimal work it has the same potential as a 2jz toyota motor either one would be bad ass though

wow he kinda went the hard way on the trans, going with a rd25 tranny would have been alot easier

Yeah ill have to say the RB25 trans would of been much less work, and a lot lighter!
I can't say im much of a 2jz fan, but a swap is easier to accomplish on the toyota rather than the nissan rb26 on the sole fact of the turbo/exhaust arrangement is preferable for routing the steering column. Very familliar with the RB26dett however, and would go to great lengths to get one in there(electric power steering!)
Now on the SR20 motor, sure its cool to have the J-spec motor and all....
but the turbo KA will make WAAAAYYYYY more torque, be a hell of a lot more reliable on the top end, and most importantly can make full boost at all of 1500 to 2000 RPM. By the time the SR is making its way to full boost(6000 RPM) you, the smart crafty one in the turbo KA will be at full boost in third gear
A good friend of mine is making 260 horse and 470 torque on all of 8 Lbs of boost(granted its a built longblock< AEM brain box, MSD DIS-4, and coil over plug from a CBR 1000 )
Check it out the madness for yourself: KA-T.org - The Home of 1000+ whp/7 sec Turbo KA's

the ka will make more torque than the sr20 but a sr20 will make more reliable power for less cost as far as the rb motors its just a matter of fabricating the necessary brackets and shit the trans you can use any skyline gts tranny. i am debating on 2jz option myself do to cost

Uhh...have you ever had the great experience of re-assembling a sr head when the little dual arm(valve side) rocker arm gets just a little out of adjustment? They get cocked just a little sideways and its game over. Reliability on the top end is the SR20's weak point. Also the SR20 is not legal on the road in some states. KA is for the most part bomb proof, even high-boosted with stock internals.
But otherwise, to each his own!....just I've driven both examples at various states of tune....KA lover all the way(but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pull of a 2.8 stroker RB all the way!!)
