| Turbo select help well guys i have been looking around and didn't find what am quit looking for, so I will appreciate you help, i have this M20 2.5l stock engine and am thinking in a turbo upgrade, but on the stock internals i still don't have much money or experience for such internal upgrade, so am looking for a OEM turbos like ( subaru or evo or anything like this), so what is the better upgrade in my case? -stock m20 ECU -stock engine internals m20 2.5l so what is the best turbo in my case? and injector size? |

| On a high comp NA car, your only going to get away with aournd 8 psi, depending on the turbo and engine. generally boost will fall between 6 and 10psi. Dont get caught up in boost numbers, turbos create airflow in CFM, not boost in psi. Boost is a measurment of the restriction of the engine, any boost is airflow than the engine can not consume. A buddy of mine makes 430 WHP at 9 psi. You will not. injectors are sized according to the HP you will be making, and having overly large injectors will hurt idle quality and low speed drivability. I know absolutly nothing about the M20, so I can't make a recommendation here.

| It's Force Performance (FP turbo charger) , Can be found on evo's and other cars.

| I made a mistake earlier on the pricing of EVO III turbos, it's $1K for two turbos, not one.

| A DSM turbo, lol. That's a new one. I guess a Garrett AiResearch turbo originally designed for a small diesel application is a much better match, because that's what most companies put on BMW's, right? Judging a turbo by the car it was originally attached to shows little knowledge in this field. The turbocharger itself isn't what makes it easy or hard, he just asked for a cheap turbo that came from an OEM application that wouldn't be completely undersized like TD04L 13T's (OEM WRX) or TD05 14B's (OEM DSM with manual tranny). Newer EVO's have reverse scroll turbos with divided housings, that would make it more difficult in a turbocharger choice perspective. Anyways I would consider a single EVO III 16G undersized for this application. He wouldn't ask that question if he already had a manifold which would dictate which housings he can choose from.
