| E36's are commonly known for having noisy lifters, its not a big deal, and it will cost you way too much, and it will start happening again relativley soon after you get it "fixed". Don't worry about it too much, unless it becomes excessive.

| As long as it not any damage to the engine then I'm good, I appreciate this. Now about the TT, who makes best one...or does it mostly depend on the installer? |

| I finally bought the AA supercharger!!! Should be installing it sometime next week!!! Doesn't come with an intercooler though.. have to fix that... Does anyone know how much wine I should expect? I'll keep updating this thread with pics as I go if anyone is interested. I think I might be looking into a mildly perfromance oriented engine rebuild soon too... Forged pistons, piston rings, Port and Polished head. Let me know what you think.

Whine wise, I will be honest. Dont know, but AA prides themself on being "resonably quiet". As for the engine rebuild, go for it. Some engines do not benefit from polishing the head. I will tell you that right now. 92318is will tell you that if you port a 4g63 head, you will certainally lose power. Slightly bump the comp ratio down, get some good rods, oversized valves, and cams.... And then up that boost, and you will have a tail wagger on your hands.

| Thanks! I'm definately going intercooled. I wonder if AA sells a kit for this supercharger, I didn't see one on their site. Oversized valves sound like a good idea, as well as forged rods and pistions, just to make sure it doesn't all go KABLAMO! (140,000 miles on the engine). I think I'm going to stick with OEM parts for the rest of the engine because cost is starting to become an issue and this car is my DD lol. Just curious, how does port/polishing the head reduce power? I thought it is meant to improve airflow and delivery?

| if I was you I would source the IC asap, also the extra hardware needed for the upgrade. Also don't hope for big numbers! Remember AA dyno #s are not famous. I remember racing an E46 M3 with a generatio 3 stage 3 S/C with 480whp (custom tuned) and I smoked that car with 10psi/C16. I think I was seating on 380whp that night. Good luck and remember you can always go turbo ![]()
