| Usually.... IF the turbo is oil cooled, or lubed..... (which.... yeah) people tap the oil pan. To be honest... I cannot say I have seen a turbo except VGTs (have self contained special oil supply) that does not require an oil supply. It can be had from the oil filter housing, or oil pan.

| Thanx for the reply's. Yeah that's what i thought. I did see pretty close pics of Jon Sibal's turbo e36 and I thought his oil lines were coming off the oil filter housing, but I could be wrong. |

| I looked on Jon Sibal's car again, he has the victory oil cooler hooked up to the oil filter canister. Either way I was only asking because I didn't want to have tap my oil pan but I guess I do. Thanx for the help guys, except for Mister know it all rocket scientist, who doesn't ever need help understanding anything. |

| Fairweather: That is a pretty common thing, as I mentioned. Running oil lines to the filter housing saves tapping the pan. It also is a very good source of oil, less prone to leakage. Many times, the oil pan is not a sufficent source for turbocharger feeding, therefore, many resort to remote locations like this one.
