Those are the strangest looking valve reliefs on a piston I've ever seen.

Never saw oem pistons on my bmw or any other for that matter. I was just saying that because I've seen a lot of others. Most relief's aren't that deep, and sometimes there are none and it's totally flat. I just thought that it looked interesting, that's all. Nice car.

Updates 3-28-08

We are getting ever so close to the end of this very long road. A few major components showed up today and are being prepared for there final placement under the hood of my M.

Here is the block back from being sleeved (all cylinders). She is straight and true once more. Tighter and stronger than the day she was first cast.

You can see here the crank was a tad out of balance .. after some persuading with a drill she is better than factory.

Last but not least .. the new fuel pump, filters, and controller. Ooo Yeah .. we went to the big boys .. check out this madness.

On a scheduling note we are hoping to have this badboy back in the car the weekend of April 4th.

I went to a trade show years ago up and one of the booths was demonstrating a machine that balanced flywheels - pretty damn cool. I imagine similar technology is used to balance the crank.

Can't wait to see how it all turns out.

I would guess it is similar.

I cant wait either .. I have had the injectors tested twice now to make sure they are working 100% . I am not going for a repeat of last time. Kind of the reason I went a tad overboard on the fuel system .. making sure come hell or high water gas is getting into those cylinders.

Today is a good day.

The fuel rail just came back from the machine shop.

We decided since the internal diameter of the OEM rail was more than adequate we would modify it to receive the new larger injectors along with fittings on each end so we can use our new return system.

It still needs a little love with an emery cloth so forgive the minor messiness.
