| ICS/Nick G Get Together After resting from an exhausting weekend, I finally have the time to throw all of this together. Two weeks ago, Nick from Technique Tuning flew up to finish tuning some cars that needed custom tuning. It was a great and successful weekend. I would like to thank Nick for his great work as it was a pleasure to deal with him, and I don't expect anything less. I look forward to many more weekends of tuning with him. The following cars were tuned by Nick... 1. E36 M3 VF Engineering CF SC Stage 1 2. E36 M3 VF Engineering CF SC Stage 1 Plus 3. E36 2.8L Z3 VF Engineering CF SC (6 psi) 4. E36 M3 Stage 3 Plus Turbo 5. E36 M3 Stage 4 Turbo 6. ICS Twin Turbo M-Coupe 7. E36 M3 Vortech T-Trim CF SC *Note: All of these cars were tuned on the stock DME with 93 octane gasoline. Absolutely no race gas was used. Also, all of the corrections are in SAE. The T-Trim CF SC has no AFR readings because the sniffer blew out and broke. ----------------------------------------- 1. E36 M3 VF Engineering CF SC Stage 1 We had a customer approach us about his dissatisfaction with his VF SC kit on an OBD2 E36 M3. This graph shows just Nick's tuning with all of the original hardware. ![]() 2. E36 M3 VF Engineering CF SC Stage 1 Plus This is the same car that was used in first graph. Nick and I decided to add a Porsche HFM, a smaller blower pulley (yielding 1 more pound of boost), and a track pipe. Since VF has yet to come out with a stage 2 upgrade and has no date on when they will, we put this together. ![]() 3. E36 2.8L Z3 VF Engineering CF SC (6 psi) This particular customer dynoed his car the weekend before and was very unhappy with his numbers. Nick redid the part throttle maps and was able to get another 25-30 rwhp out her. Needless to say, the customer was happy. ![]() ![]() 4. E36 M3 Stage 3 Plus Turbo This car has a fully built motor with a GT35R turbo running 18psi. This graph is untuned, but for some reason I can't find the graph where he made 586rwhp SAE. When I get to work tomorrow, I will find it and edit this post. ![]() 5. E36 M3 Stage 4 Turbo Here's the same car as the runs above, but now sporting a GT40R running 18 psi and custom tuned. Peak power was actually 633rwhp, but it was slightly detuned for some added reliability. ![]() ![]() 6. ICS Twin Turbo M-Coupe This is the infamous M-Coupe that disappeared for a long time. To make a long story short, last year when European Car was shooting the Bumble Bee...someone t-boned me in it. It was almost a total loss. After 11 months in the body shop, it's back. We have a twin-turbo setup on this car. It is running twin GT28RS's with internal wastegates on a stock motor with a 0.140" Cometic headgasket. We tuned it to 1 bar of boost. I plan on installing a fuel rail along with a adjustable fuel pressure regulator and cranking up the boost to hit 600rwhp. ![]() ![]() 7. E36 M3 Vortech T-Trim CF SC This is m3jasper's car. We installed Technique Tuning's MAF, larger injectors, a V2 t-trim, and smaller pulleys. The pulleys used spun the blower to 54600rpms and we were seeing ~17-18psi at redline. We had trouble with a slipping belt, so we weren't able to completely finish tuning. In the next few days, an update will be posted about this car. These three runs are back to back. ![]() ---------------------------------------------------------- That's the conclusion of the weekend. It was a lot to do but we are able to get it done. Thanks to everyone involved as I had a great time and look forward to doing it again in the near future |
