Hey guys, been sometime since i was on this forum, i've been modding my scooby but miss my BM so here is the question, i have a 328 that had a turbo but it blew up, the rebuild is now on and i am looking for a turbo to push 300wkw and about 500nm , what can you guys suggest. thanks Ryan |

| the motor didn't blow up the first time from tuning, it was because of the wrong gasket and when it burnt through the gasket it went through the ally block. ![]() i had a t4 turbo on there and it made good power, but i want something a little more. and i also want to rev to about 8000rpm. |

| A good set of gaskets, bolts etc makes a huge difference lol, and unfortunely left you fucked. I would personally get some forged internals, a good HG, bolts, a GREAT tune, and lots of fuel. I would defintly have it dyno tuned..... The difference between running a good time, and going home in a flatbed is how well you setup your car. If you want an 8k rpm redline,m that shouldnt be a problem at all. They do damn near that stock, correct? Make sure your exhaust system, ignition, and fuel system are on par for what you want to do. I personally will be doing an M52 up myself, using a GT40R, and all of the stuff I mentioned. Good luck with your build.

You don;t want to rev your 2.8 to 8000 RPM. A little more boost is better than a little more RPMs, especially on that engine. 300 rwkw ~ 400 rwhp so you're looking at a GT30R or larger. With a small capacity engine I'd go for GT30R .. certainly no larger than GT35R .. keep your spool as nice as possible.

talk about lag!so what i am going to do is bore out the 2.8 to 3.0 and put a bigger gasket on it to drop the compression run a gt30r. looking to boost to 1-1.2 bar boost. should the std internals hold , if i get a good tune? (p.s i have gone trough 2 scooby motors thanks to guys that don't know how to tune, so... i know how important it is) thanks Ryan ![]() |

| That may be true, but in any event, it never hurts to do the build right, and get forged con rods...... Along with ARPs..... I would rather push 20psi through good rods, instead of limiting to 17 on OE.
