| lol, any supporting ideas. Sorry to be a pain, but if anyone has any reasoning behind their decision, feel free to let me know. I am open to all opinions. Thanks for the response Andru.

| A 7 series will always be too heavy to be quick. The M30 is a great engine but is 2 valve.

| How much money do you have to budget on this project? You could try and find an E23 745i...a chip and a few other easy bolt ons gets well over 400hp+tq out of the M106....

| It certainly would be different, which is always good. Its a HUGE learning experience, especially if you do most of it yourself. I just think it would be alot of fun, plus the looks you would get passing people would be priceless. Even if its not a power beast, it still would be alot of fun.

| Go for it dude, either a big blower (Vortech V2 T-Trim or similar) or a GT35r. It'll be a tough block, might just need pistons and/or rods too. I'd love to see it done! Full Sleeper...Munch Munch, rexxies for Lunch!

| Again, the great thing is, if you don't want to just straight up switch to the factory platform turbo E23, you have the same car to pull parts/ideas off of. You could plug 'n play a M106 setup, add a different wastegate spring, different exhaust, etc, improved I/C and a Scottie Sharpe chip, and have an extremly impressive car, that will still blow the doors of many modern BMWs

| It's no more of a PITA to get 745i parts than it would be to do a custom turbo. In fact, it would be way easier to get those. Keep your eyes on ebay and whatnot, you'll find the right stuff. Also, if you see a whole 745i go up for sale, see if you can jump on it. Nothing like having stuff already done for you.

| Pretty well. Claimed 256hp, though it probably made alot more than that. Again, a spring, fllter, exhaust and chip gets you some silly power...it has a big K27 on it, the same turbo they use on the Porsche 930...so if that's an indicator of its' capability....yeah, definitely a good platform to work on.
