Supercharger belt, where to?

The belt that was originally installed on my supercharger was a Gates K080550, it broke and so naturally I ordered a replacement. I got another Gates of the same model number and when I tried to put it on, despite maxing out the tensioner(automatic) I could not get the thing on, it looked like it was at least 1/3" too short. So I returned it for a K080560, the next model up which was an inch longer. Unfortunately this caused the belt to slip

Now I'm sure you can see where I am going with this, Does anyone know a technique that would have allowed the original belt to be put on? Or someone that would have a belt between the two.

Specs are as follows:
Gates K080550 length - 1400mm/55.13"
Gates K080560 length - 1425mm/56.09"

If the 1400mm went on before, it should be able to happen again. Don't really know what else to tell you....maybe some people have tips for walking a belt on?

Yeah I know but I have done everything up to pulling all but one bracket off and trying to angle the blower closer.

try to get a mechanic who knows superchargers to put it on? worth paying someone and watching so you can do it next time.

Sounds like what youre missing is
Gates number K060551 length - 1415mm/55.7"

You can order it on line from rockauto.com. When you get there, select 'part number search', and enter in the gates part number. Its about 9 bucks. Theyre very reliable; I always get my belts from them.

My bad.. I hadnt noticed you were using an 8 rib belt. The info I gave you was for a 6 rib belt. I apologize. However, there still is another belt from gates you can try in an 8 rib config if you still need it.. this one is 3/8" shorter than the 560 which is listed by Rock Auto as being 56.625. Its the KO80558 and its listed with a length of 56.25. I know the lengths in inches they give are different than what you posted, but even so, looking at the numbering sequence, the one I found for you will be shorter than the 560 which you found too long. good luck.
