Hello Everyone *waves* (Reintroduction)

Hello, just reintroducing myself here since I haven't posted on this site in a long time.

A little about myself, my names Larry and I attend Texas Bible College. Just one year left! But, anyway, onto the car stuff. It isn't the fastest here by a long shot but it sure is fun.

It's a '96 M3 Coupe with Vaders.

EXTERIOR:
-Blacked out grill surrounds
-Kosei K1’s wrapped in Kuhmo Ecsta MX 245’s x4
-Foglight Blockoff Plates

INTERIOR
-Pioneer Mosfet 50wx4 channel head unit
-Momo Pedals

SUSPENSION and BRAKES:
-Koni Yellows
-3 way adjustable sways, camber plates
- Some sort of low springs that are supposed to be Dinans that I don’t like
-Eurosport Underdrive pullies
-UUC Red transmission mounts with enforcers.

-Pagid Blue brake pads
-SS Brake Lines and DOT 5 fluid

DRIVETRAIN
-Dinan Supercharger (@ ~ 7 PSI)
-ACS Disabled
-Borla Catback and custom track pipe
-Uber stiff clutch of unknown origin
-UUC Red transmission mounts with enforcers.
-Rouge engineering short shift kit
-Eurosport Underdrive Pullies
-Vorschlag Engine Mounts
-VAC Oil Pan Baffle
-TMS Differential Bushings
-AEM Wideband

There may be some more that I’m missing but here are some pictures of the newest modifications and some of the old. These are just the ones I have.

Close up of the Koseis

UUC Reds with Enforcers on the bottom. Don’t know how much good they do on the bottom but they don’t vibrate that bad.

TMS Differential Bushings. These things are great.

Vorschlag Engine Mounts. I love these things. Definitely worth doing IMO.

VAC oil pan baffle. It’s in but I didn’t get pics of the pan before it went back on.

VPD oil cooler and PWR Radiator

And an annoying Powerdyne

With the old wheels

On the Dyno!

This is with stock plugs… long story and I didn’t know it at the time. I’m now running a step colder. It was a noticeable difference but I can’t say how much. This is a graph of the best run, which was also the first, but the dyno operator didn't realize it would rev to 7k. Subsequent runs went to 7k but heatsoak set in and it didn't do so hot... or rather it did do hot. But that's a bad thing in this case.

Hi Larry, I'm Kurt. Re-welcome to the site

Nice car. I see a lot of SC guys who only do the SC and no supporting mods. So it's nice to see your other mods too. You have some power to gain if you switch out that intake manifold though.

Hi Kurt! I know some people kind of know me from another forum (I recognize your signature from there) but, yeah, reliability FTW.

I have an M50 (should be anyway. I guess I need to double check), X brace, and Z3 steering rack available to me. I just need to get around to swapping them before my dad sells/trades in his Z3 this fall! I've got an alky control setup sitting at my dads place that I need to get around to installing before changing FI methods. Dealing with the PD unit is getting really old really fast.

Welcome to the site! Glad to see some more S/C owners on here! You should definitely look into an OBD-I manifold, that would seriously help your cause! Do you have any other plans for your car? Going to ditch the powerdyne, perhaps?

Does anyone happen to know whether the the 2.5 Z3's had the m50 manifold needed for this swap? I can't just go out and look at the thing until this weekend but I figure it does baring something goofy like a random parts change for no good reason.

The plan is to ditch the PD unit but first, to get further experience with FI, bump the psi up to 10 with the aforementioned W/A injection. Howeever I'm torn between a big blower setup (standard Vortech for these cars w/ cams etc) or a relativly small turbo setup (t3/t04e maybe). It should happen this summer so it may get in the way of upping the PD's boost... oh well.

The manifold that you need was only 1995 and earlier.
Why such a small turbo? Why not a good sized turbo?

Ah, I see. I was under the impression that it wasn't so much the OBDII manifold in general but rather the OBDII M3 manifold because of the displacement change. Thanks for clearing that up.

Why the small turbo?
Simply because I already have one (from a previous project) and should be able to hit my power goal of about 420whp with it. I've considered selling it and picking up a gt30 but I don't see the point in spending the extra money right now. Often times better is the worst enemy of good enough.

Niether am I interested in a pure drag car so I need to keep the power at a level I can reasonably learn to manage. I can't imagine staying in control of a car with your horsepower numbers on corner exit. About another 140 over what I have now should keep me entertained for quite a while since I'm not really looking to compete or anything just have a lot of fun driving it. The car has been at its current power level, or there abouts, since I bought it 2 years ago.
