| Well everyone it is time to bring all of you up to speed as to what is going on with my girl. After the tuning was over she was taken out to be a feature car for BMW Car Magazine which was an all day shoot and with the gal being shot in many areas and under differing conditions around NorCal. There were an endless number of drive by shots and then static shots taken; literally hundreds of pictures. The day went well from all accounts until the return trip back to D/A because it was then that my gal tossed a check engine light. Now this is when my blackberry goes off and I get a message saying the car has a SES and Bill is enroute back to the shop with the car to investigate what caused it. GT-1 comes out and shows a single code; misfire on cylinder one. Now the plugs come out and the number 1 plug shows detonation. Now we inspect further and find that the remaining 5 cylinders are fine so again we dig deeper only to find that the injector has failed on cylinder one. Now as a matter of practice a compression test is performed and sadly she shows lower compression on one cylinder. Now this is all occurring approx 12 hours before the truck is scheduled to pick the car up during which time we have an ongoing conference about it and finally I decide to send her back anyway as there is no reason to delay her arrival home over a head gasket. Nothing that a few hours won’t correct however during her trip home that took about 9 days we all debated on what we really wanted to do. We had created a masterpiece but I always knew that ultimately I wanted to build her bottom-end too; in fact I likely should have from the onset so I came to the decision to just go all the way. I am going to do the bottom end as many have said I should have done from the get go; so here is what we are presently doing. A complete LC bottom-end that will include Arrow rods, custom D/A spec’d CP pistons, as well as block and rotating assembly work at the discretion of D/A. At this time we going to leave my current upgraded fuel system in place and see where it leads us; meaning just how much power we can find. Once we find her limits we will consider upgrading it further if we feel there is even more power to unleash. SO to give you the quick recap: Fuel Injector Failed Cylinder one which caused detonation that took out the plug and head gasket. The AFRs have been in the low 11s throughout the entire process so there was plenty of fuel until the injector decided to quit and since the wide band monitors a single bank of three cylinders a solo dead hole simply slipped through under one of her more extreme moments of terrorizing the neighborhood Now .. since the head is coming off I simply said decided screw it .. this time around we go for the gusto. Custom D/A spec’d 9.5:1 Ceramic Coated Forged Pistons, Arrow Forged Connecting Rods, a massaged crank and block along with some other goodies :-) So .. we go back to waiting .. lol… Not really as I have seen my gal and heard her sing, I simply consider this the ribbon on her, one that when she is seen up close and personal she deserves. She is simply out of this world and as a few others have already said; she is likely the coolest Supercharged E46 M3 out there. Why stop the ride i say .. we can keep going .. SO .. here is Version II .. 2 years early. I hope to have the motor pulled out in the coming weeks and D/A is already working on my new bottom end. |

| Fuck that sucks! I had a fuel pump fail, but not an injector, luckily I was not under boost. What injectors are you using?
