| e39 custom turbo i really want to do it, but it wont happen for quite a few months, most likely next summer. so what im wondering am i going need so far i have this turbo blow off valve intercooler boost controler boost gauge piping turbo manifold, is there some place that sell one of these or would i have to get a custom one built? how much would i be looking at? what else tell me if i left anything out? im also wonder about the computer, am i going to need special chip tuning? other questions are tear down? what going to have to come off the install this. i know the hood, front bumper, headlights, ect.. fenders and front wheels too? how many people would i need? i was thinking 2(me and a friend)? i want to get about 300hp to the wheels. i should be able to do this for about $1500-$2000 right?

| maybe intercooler, but fitment is something you would have to look at. Also when you start to add up all the costs i bet it will be over $2000.

| its gonna cost alot more than 2000. wow where to begin! well the first obstacle will be your manifold. thats definitley going to be custom. and that will be at least 1000. and make sure you have your turbo picked out so the guy fabbin it knows what he has to do. and make sure he does the down pipe so that it connects to your stock exhaust.3'' dia at least. you will need a turbo oil return line, and a fitting that taps into your oil sys below your turbo(gravity fed ya know, maybe tap and thread in an aeroquip style one). an assortment of check valves for vaccum lines. so that your crankcase vent. sys. still works right and all your other vaccum based systems and accys. definitley need bigger injectors. youll have to do the math for that. if you want ill give you the equation. the computer will need to be ''redone''. how ever you decide to do that. a custom chip i guess would be the cheapest option. for all the piping your going to need some silicone hoses and clamps(try not to go cheap on the clamps itll lead to problems later). this is all bare min stuff here. you havent got into tuning the air fuel ratio and turbotimers and boost controllers. this is just getting the car to run and no more. you ve gotta be looking more like 4000 to 10000. depending on your fuel and ecu setup and how nice a turbo you go with. and i could still be low on the numbers! not trying to shoot you down! just the facts. |
