Supercharger for M20B25

What would be an appropriate supercharger from Vortech for this engine, when desired power is around 500-600HP?

What would the power and torque graphs look like with this kind of supercharger?

GOD DAMN MAN GOODLUCK.....500-600hp engine with supercharger..waste of money really...Wanna put down the same amount of power as 500-600hp supercharged engine just go with pretty mild built turboed m50 or m52 motor or s50 or s52 motor & call it a day & put down anywhere from 350-450 & could easily rape a 500-600hp supercharged engine, wanna bet & proof just try comparing a turboed m3 or M roadster putting down 350-450hp vs a porter blown 03/04 SVT Cobra with mods & see the outcome & you'll see exactly what i mean.....

Now i can 100% guarantee you if you had E46 m3 motor which i believe is s54 i believe you would 100% get well over 500hp with decent build & supercharger kit because E46 m3 from what i heard put down some bigger numbers vs supercharging a e36 m3.

the s54 is the e46 motor and according to everyone on the internet will not fit into an e30.

I also suggest you stay away from centrifugal superchargers they combine the lag of a turbo with the friction losses of a blower and are inferior to both. If you want 500 horsepower from that motor you want a turbo.

from the looks of the numbers post, you guys must be all noobies. Its no biggy. Back to topic.

500-600 horpsepower is achivable in a supercharger (please search ICS built 460rhwp with NickG tuning at BFC). Thats equates to around 540bhp from 15% drivetrain loss.

Supercharger vs Turbo is like comparing oranges to apples. The power delivery of so different.

In regards to any engine in different chassis, Yes S54 will fit in an E30, pretty much any BMW engine will fit on an E30. It all comes down to how much money you have in your pocket. The hardest problem will be making custom components to get everything working flawless. (e.g., engine management, driveshaft, motormount, etc, etc). If they can fit a v12 in a 318ti then that shouldnt be a question.

Yes you are right S54 have really outrageous potential. If anyone of you guys are watching Horsepowerfreaks turbo kit, all i can say is. God dang....

Seeing as its the same topic... i was looking for cheap power (arent we all) and was wondering if the M20B25 supercharged would be a better option than turbo... I am looking to build a track car and do not want much turbo lag although i do not want to spend too much either... anywhere close to 300Kw would be nice. I am planning on doin lots in the way of fuel system chip tuning, cams ect. so hopefully a large amount of power will come from that

I wish you all the best. I would actually go with a lysholm twin screw. Got some crazy power out of a 77 rabbit with one of those. But....500-600??? Got $100k? Just go buy a Porsche. I can't even immagine why anyone would want a 600hp M20. Not to put you down friend, I wish you all the luck and hope I may contribute a small little piece of info to accomplish this. I went about as far as a guy can go with an M20 without forced induction.
