| newby with 535i turbo question hello all. i'm a newby not only to this forum but to bmw's. I bought a 535i 5spd with the strait 6. i was considering turbo charging it. does anybody make turbo manifolds? from what i've read you can only custom make them. if you can buy, where at? i'm looking to spend about $2k. reasonable goal? the car itself has 320k miles and still running and driving great. the motor was rebuilt less than 100k ago. too many miles for the turbo? if not, what turbo should i look for? |

| your not your going to be able to stay in that budget very easily. The cheapest kit TCD sells is $3800 some odd dollars.. They do sell individual manifolds though, go for the same turbo they use T04E the trim size is up to you. http://www.turbochargingdynamics.com/tcd_catal.htm

| i thought about running low boost with the stock motor. but if it's going to be nearing $4k, it's not really worth it. it's my daily driver so i really can't build the motor. if i could find a junkyard motor and build it up and then just take a week or so to swap out motors, that might be ideal. |
