| Franky's got a 318ti, he's getting the DASC. This doesn't fit the M50/M52 block on the 325. Majority of the kits are Centrifugal. There are a few companies working on Eaton Type (twin Screws), but they are still very cost prohibitive. | Woah! Sorry I never responded. Not sure how you contacted me, but I don't recall getting it! I originally developed the twin screw kit on my own 1993 325is. I can assure you that it is a DIRECT fit. I can also assure you that we have a tune for a 325 motor, since I drove it around like that for quite some time before selling the car and going to the M3. My TSd 325 would walk an E36M3 like it was dead. Look for a thread from August of 2004 from ContinuingEd on the "other forum" about it. The car was probably about on par with an E46M3 at WOT. The torque addition was sweet. There should be no issue in selling the kit for a 325 application. Contact Active and talk to someone about it. We will just have to make sure that the latest and greatest software is available for the 2.5L kit. Have to dig it up out of the archives!! Let me know if you have any more technical questions about it. Steve |

The twin screw compressor has equal or greater efficiency than a centrifugal compressor, and maintains that higher efficiency over a much broader range than any centrifugal compressor. The ONLY downside of the twin screw is that it is more complex due to requiring a new intake manifold, etc, and therefore costs more to develop and produce. That, and the additional torque makes it more likely that you will have to replace your tires often!! ![]() EDIT: Also Twin Screw does NOT equal EATON. The EATON is a ROOTS BLOWER. The twin screw is a lysholm compressor, and is far more efficient. Some non-BMW aftermarket companies claim their kits are "twin screw" when they are actually Eaton based... |
