| Bavariacars are the mob to talk to in regards to Downing Atlanta Superchargers. pritty sure they make kits for e36's w m40 engines but not sure about e30's. i think the most you'll get from a SC'ed 318i will be about 150kw at the rear wheels. | Back from the dead... I guess GRM piloted the fit on the M42 in an e30... So M42 and M44 engines in e30 and e36 applications - including the z3 roadster... So I keep looking for one of these on the cheap for my DD (e36 318i)... Anyone have a group buy going or want to sell a complete kit in like new condition? ![]()

| supercharger I had the downing atlanta supercharger in my 95 318. It was good for an extra 50hp. I found it to be very reliable since i took many long trips with the car. The car never really made enough power for me so i upgraded to the M3. MIke |

| have a look at 318ti.org to see if there are any group buys going at the moment.. Many Ti owners have the DASC fitted (including me). Also think about a technique tunning stage 2 or 3 kit to augment your DASC. makes it even better (i'm stage 2).

| I doubt that Bavaria cars would sell a DASC directly. They may sell their own supercharger kits like many other tuners in Sydney do (like ALS and i think PEAK) but it will most likly be a centrifugal SC rather than a roots type (i may have that back to front but there are two types of SC, one is the type used in a DASC and gives a fairly constant amount of boost from very low revs onwards, the other is small like a turbo and gives more boots the higher the reves climb. it starts out lower than DASC but peak can be higher than the DASC so they sort of cancel each other out.) These localy made kits will normaly require a piggy back ECU (DME) but they also do not normaly require a lot of parts removal from the existing engine (DASC removes the intake manifold and DISA valve etc). they are also easier to add an intercooler if desired.
