Hacked header into turbo manifold

I've been hearing alot lately that you can hack your exsisting header on a E36 M3 into a turbo manifold. Is this possible? I've also heard that a E46 M3 header flows better than the E36 version and can mounted w/ little drilling of the holes. So wouldn't it make sense, if all this is true, to hack a E46 header into a turbo manifold, drill it, and then swap it onto the E36?

Waste of money. PM a guy named techno550 on bimmerforums. He has soem awesome SPA turbo manifolds he helped designed, pre-plumbed for a external wastegate for about $450 if i recall.

It's a good looking manifold.
