max boost on M50 and other gen bimmer boost ?'s

as topic says, what is the top amount of boost run on a stock (bottom, will run M3 cams up top) M50 engine, i have a 93 which means i have vanos (right?) is that something i should look to get rid of, i will be running a stand alone also and im pretty damn sure it will not support it anyway....is that gunna be a problem or no??

its internaly gated which ill prolly keep cause im not looking for a ton of power but still want some will prolly port it....
and also a bov/by-pass valve, still undesided on what one to run here........

thats all i can think of for my specs list now, i think i got it all.....but yeah, that turbo should be able to throw down whatever the motor can handle and then some, but i just want to run stock bottom for now, maybe later ill upgrade, but i have a drift ccar to build still lol

MegaSquirt barely supports a running driving motor, let alone VANOS.

Megasquirt can work perfectly with that engine if tuned right. It can also control your 6 coilpacks now using the MSnS -Extra code. You can use one of your outputs to tell vanos when to turn on and off as well. You just need to take the time and do it right

really...well then maybe u should tell all teh RX-7 guys running it on there cars that, cause there driving/racing them like they do.....

so no one tests the limits of the stock internals here?? damn i need to go back to poor mans cars lol

It's a M50. A good low miles used complete engine sells for ~5-750. Blow it up.

lol ok, wasnt sure on the price for them, ill start off with around 10psi and work my way up from there, just keep dumping more fuel inthe bitch

From what i hear (and i'll be testing it out soon too) is that a stock M50 can handle 350rwhp at about 15psi of boost... i'll give it a go soon...

safely you can run about 15 psi with only putting in a cometic .140 MLS head gasket. some have pushed to 18psi but there are no long term reports on that setup. 15psi is tried and true.

hp is also dependant on what size turbo you run.
