M42 318is/ti guys...Turbo plans?

just thought i'd mention

I had my car custom fi'd (e36 93 318is): Intercooled, Garret T28R, sds Eic

In my research I found that only a few kits are available:
mosselman, tdi & dasc SC'r
they will not sell there turbo manifolds seperate.

it definitely cut down on custom fab costs & time having the mani
made on my spare M42 motor..

So I have turbo manifolds available all on there own $950 CDN.
can be made in a matter of days, again on a spare M42 sitting at the shop that did it.

this is bmdoubleya's bro btw ....with the e36.

sweet post his name .... that would really help people out.

I know i was looking all over for a mani on it's own.
the shop that did mine asked if i could find (one they're mainly vw/audi) cause its a very tight motor bay in there.

few people said they "could" but there cars weren't even done yet.

I attached one pic (pre plumbing) see how tight it is!

video: you might need to click REFRESH after to see all of it!?
car reving: http://media.putfile.com/Picture-24279
car driving: http://media.putfile.com/HPIM2914

both of these were done before a better "tune" was achieved.
by better i mean the car no longer hesitates & backfires when "WOT'D"
this was acomplished by moving the AFM to the turbo intake as opposed
to letting it be under boosted pressure.

thanks guys

Notice the Steel braided brake line?

won those at bav, thanks bav http://www.bavauto.com

The HB rally suspension pictured is the stuff

tranny yanked, while getting a Sachs sport clutch installed.

close up: you can see my Turbo manifold, exhaust side impeller.

boost gauge going in: does oil pressure to i believe + Data logging
will be pillar mounted along with the a/f gauge.

My exhaust, quiet as a whisper with the 2 Stebro cans.
With 1 it was loud as hell, sounded like a 18wheeler when engine breaking

Would be even more interesting if the steering was on the same side as yours Aaron :-)

I love how the low mount turbo runs the charge pipes under the subframe, too.

wait, is this an m42, or the m44? I thought that the m44 could be turboed due to the fact that it actually has knock sensors, as opposed to the m42 which lacks them...

selected "euro", right side steering etc, but couldn't find a engine bay pic.
The motors are obviously the same, exhaust mani still comes down on
the right side..

You don't require knock sensors to turbocharge an engine. It does give you an added safety margin though, provided you retain the knock sensors.
